Histories for Kids, Inc. / HFK PresentsHistories for Kids, Inc. specializes in historical portrayal and storytelling for children of all ages. These 45 minute, one-man interactive performances give audiences a new, first person perspective on the people and events that make up our history and culture. Not just a lecture, an experience! Actor and National Speaker Association member Terry Lynch, with his wife Laura, a certified teacher for over 20 years established Histories for Kids, Inc. as a way to bring history to life! Terry has performed at numerous schools, libraries, hist. soc., museums, and colleges nationwide. He's been part of the summertime fun at Taste of Chicago, and has appeared on the WGN Morning Show. As an educator, Laura has developed extensive curriculum based study guides to help prepare for, or follow up on assemblies. With numerous show titles to choose from, history happens when you don't expect it! Terry and Laura also established HFK Presents, programming for adult audiences. Liang Acrobatic & Comedy ShowLIANG...AS SEEN ON AMERICAS GOT TALENT ON NBC!!! Liang, Americas most famous Chinese acrobat, stars in this unique school assemblies program offering students a chance to learn about the diversity and culture of China through acrobatics, music and fun. Liang demonstrates the ancient art of Plate Spinning(8), Head Balancing, Chinese YoYo, & Hula Hoops(25 Blindfolded) up close. Liang has headlined at Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, Today Show, & a Justin Timberlake video. This educational look at the language, culture, music & acrobatics of China teaches as well as entertains. Students get involved in the show interactively, becoming acrobats by trying out some of the same skills Liang does on toy versions. Eat Like A RainbowJay Mankita's hip, funky romp for kids and the folks who feed them. Crunchy rhythms and tasty harmonies, with a very nutritious groove throughout - really gets'em dancing - The concert is based on Jay's CD of the same name, which is a Parents' Choice Approved Award Winner. The songs themselves make for a rocking, funky, danceable collection of quirky kids songs about healthy food and sustainable living. The show promotes fruits, vegetables, grains, beans, and seeds - plant based foods from our farms and gardens. CDs are sent before the show, so kids can learn the songs, this makes a huge difference in participation, comprehension, and retention! We also send teacher's guides and resource sheets, as well as posters and press releases to help with publicity. This project was originally commissioned by the NY Coalition for Healthy School Food (NYCHSF), who asked Jay to write these songs and perform them for a pilot project in New York City Schools in conjunction with the NYC Board of Education, Department of School Foods. A healthy portion of the proceeds from the sale of these albums directly supports NYCHSF and their work to bring healthy food to our schools.
